Do You Obey the Movie Rules?

This guest post from Doris Dillon

I often think back to the days when we went to the movies when I was a little girl. Things were tight back then, so going to out to see a show was a treat in itself. What always made it super exciting though was sneaking in our own snacks. My parents were always about following the rules, so I remember a little rush running through me as I’d have a bag full of chocolate chips in one pocket and a can of cherry coke in the other. It made going to the movies such an adventure!

Nowadays, as things are again tight in our economy, I find that I do the same with my children. My husband usually protests (he’s a stickler for rules) but I think it adds just a little more fun to than just going to the movies and eating whatever they have for sale at the concessions. It’s so funny how I can feel that same tingle through me as we “pull a fast one” on the ticket takers. I also love to watch my children smile as they fake cough to mask the sound of their pop opening. But as we leave home to go break the rules, I always remember to set our ADT alarm system , as some people have fun

Dog whispering

Guest post written by Steven Cassidy

I’ve always been a dog person. I just think that they have more personalities because they’re more willing to play with you. That also means that they’re more vocal when they’re angry or something’s wrong – which can be pretty annoying sometimes.

I like to watch the “Dog Whisperer” with my Boston terrier Sue and see how Cesar handles and helps out all those dogs. He’s always so attentive to them and I try to be that attentive to Sue but she was having problems with my grandkids when they would come over and visit me. She was just so agressive acting towards them and I started watching the show to get some tips.

I tried some of the things that Cesar did and they seemed to work. During that process I also took a free hearing test CONCORD and got some hearing aids. My brother had bought some hearing aides in Texas and my cousin got a hearing aid in PA. That helped me pick up on some low growling and noises that she made around other people that I had never noticed before.

I’m not sure how Cesar knows what to do, but the stuff I tried on Sue that I saw him do on the show definitely worked wonders.

Natural Nubz Edible Dental Dog Chews

Calling all dog lovers and Costco shoppers! There’s a great deal in the Costco monthly coupon book for Nylabone Nubz Dental Treats for dogs. Between August 19th and September 12th, you can buy a bag of these treats for $3.50. I love my dog, but I can’t handle bad doggy breath, so we give these treats to our dogs to keep their teeth cleaner and their breath fresher. My husband would argue that there’s no such thing as a dog with good breath, but these bones keep their mouths cleaner which helps make their breath smell better.

I’ve tried to learn how to clean dog’s teeth, but mine won’t cooperate, and they love the Nylabone products, so we stick with what works for us. My mother-in-law actually brushes her dog’s teeth, but mine just want to eat the toothbrush. It was too frustrating to try to get them to sit still while we brushed their teeth, and the bones are a fun, healthy treat, so I stopped trying to brush their teeth a long time ago.

Dogs get tummy aches just like people, so I’m very particular about what I feed my dogs. They deserve natural food and natural dog treats to keep them healthy and feeling great. Nylabone Nubz dental dog chews are made with real chicken, and they’re a natural way to help keep your dog healthy. The thought of my babies having to be put under general anesthesia to have their teeth cleaned is too stressful, not to mention expensive. These treats will help keep their mouths clean, which has been proven to have a positive impact on their overall health.

My children make fun of me for carrying my little dog around like a baby, but my dog loves it, and I told them that I either treat the dog like a baby, or they have to let me treat them like babies. They’ve agreed to let me baby the dog!

Cute Nursing Scrubs That are Fun to Wear

Nursing scrubs have changed since I worked in a hospital many years ago. I used to dread having to wear the unflattering scrubs that were two sizes too big, because when you don’t feel like you look good, it’s hard to feel confident and ready to work. These days, scrubs come in cute styles and designs, and kids are even wearing them to school because they look cute! I would have never thought that my old work uniform would become a fashion trend! Well, not exactly my old uniform, no one would have wanted that thing!

It’s nice to see that the staff at hospitals and doctors offices are allowed to wear different uniforms to work, because it helps patients feel more comfortable and less like they’re in a place for sick people. You can still recognize workers by the basic scrub style, but the colors and shapes are so much more flattering than they used to be. Scrubs can even be custom made so they’ll fit exactly as you want.

Some people work because they want something to do, but most of us work because we need the money, so we can’t spend our entire paycheck on our wardrobe. You can find cheap scrubs that won’t break the bank, but they’ll look good. We all feel better about ourselves when we feel like we look our best, and this can have an impact on how we do our jobs. When you look better, you feel better, and you’re ready to get out there and take on the world. I spend a lot of time at work, and I want to feel good about getting dressed for work, and having something fun to wear makes it a little easier to get motivated for the day.

Deep sea fishing

Guest post written by Scott Brown

I just got back from my family vacation and it was a little more stressful that I would have liked. It surprisingly wasn’t the grandkids or even the adult children that made it so stressful, but something I noticed when we were out deep sea fishing.

We were off the coast of Hilton Head, or I should say we were making our way off the coast then, when I was having a lot of trouble hearing what my daughter and son-in-law were trying to tell me. They were trying to tell me about how they were going to hire an after-school tutor for my grandson this school year and asking my opinion on it as a retired high school teacher. Except I couldn’t hear the details she was telling me and kept asking her to repeat herself. She got irritated with me and insisted that I looked up hearing aid reviews because this wasn’t the first time I had trouble understanding one of our conversations.

It really wasn’t, so I just made an appointment for hearing tests that are in a couple of days. Hopefully it will help me get this problem sorted out.

A Good Mechanic Isn’t Hard to Find

I depend on my car every day, and I can’t afford to miss work because my car breaks down. I also can’t spend a fortune on auto repairs, so I always try to use a repair shop that other people have recommended. When you need Chicago auto repair , why settle for the first place you find in the phone book when there’s a website that lets you learn about all the shops in your area and which one would be best for your situation. Whether you need maintenance work on your vehicle such as an oil change or a tune up, or you need major work done such replacing the water pump, you can find reviews from other customers and see where people have received the best service and find out who offers the best prices.

Some auto repair shops are only qualified to work on specific makes and models, so if you need work done on an Toyota Corolla, you’ll want to find someone who’s familiar with working on that vehicle. You can read reviews from other customers, so you’ll be able to see which shops offer fast, reliable service at a fair price. It’s easy to feel taken advantage of when you have costly auto repairs, so find out more about all the related parts that may be neccessary when you have certain mechanical problems. Make sure you’re getting the best service for the best price by knowing who you’re dealing with before you end up in a situation where you wish you would have looked around first. You could save a lot of time, frustration, and money!

Courses Online are Becoming Increasingly Popular

My husband loves to design r/c model airplanes for a simulator program, and he’s created dozens of planes for friends and even designed several models for a popular r/c company. He does this for free because he loves what he does, and I keep telling him that he could make a lot of money with his talent, but without a degree to verify his work, designing model airplanes will have to remain a hobby. He already has a hectic schedule, and we live in the middle of nowhere, so going to a college campus doesn’t seem possible. I’ve been looking into courses online, and there are several schools available, so now the next step is to research finance options.

Finding online courses was the easy part! There are directories that will match you with a list of schools according to your interests, and you can submit your information to the schools of your choice. You can take your education as far as you desire with online degree courses. Financial concerns are the main reason that people don’t continue their education. Hectic schedules are also a real concern, which is why online classes are probably the only option for our family. It’s become increasing popular for people to earn a degree online, and many schools now offer this as an option. Some courses do require a certain amount of classroom time, but the majority of the work can be done from the comfort of your own home. Some businesses recognize life experience, but most require that little piece of paper that shows your qualifications and dedication to a particular field, so don’t let your dreams remain just a dream.
